In this work, I used various symbolism related to the Goddess of Justice which could be found in ancient Egypt, Greek and Roman civilization. I re-interpreted these elements found on her to emphasize the on-going injustice we see today.

The blindfold is related to equal and prejudiced treatment. It is now slipped away.

The hand holding judgment scales which are slanted and fell over.

The sword is the symbolism of judgment.

The snake symbolizes evil deeds and shamelessness to evil and danger.

The character standing on a burning book means standing corrected by knowledge, intelligence and the law of justice that is dysfunctional and not respected.

The dysfunctional judiciary system takes the form of a broken lightning, a fearful weapon used against injustice is now broken. Same as the rainbow that symbolizes hope which is tumbled down.

These two sculptures are intended to be in black and white which emphasize right vs wrong, the lack of neutrality, and division.
